7.17.11 4th of July, cabin, Dutch BBQ

Howdy! Well July is in full swing and we have been BUSY! A few announcements...Aunt Michele is pregnant! She's been prego for a little while but I just haven't said anything about it, shame on me. She's due in January and we are so excited! This will be my first blood niece or nephew. We can't wait to meet baby Clegg!
Hill and her kids are in town for 5 weeks so we've been hanging out with them for the past week. Yesterday we went to a family reunion on Landon's dad's side. It was really neat because we got to meet some family that was visiting from Holland. Landon's grandpa was born in Holland then he came to America when he was small and his sister stayed in Holland. Here are a few pics from yesterday.

Last week we went over to Grandma Roberta's (or Grandma Berta as Linc likes to call her) for a little summer BBQ. Roberta has a hill in her back yard so we set up the slip and slide as a water slide and the kids had a great time.

4th of July! We had a great 4th this year. We went to my Uncle Robert's for the annual bbq and fireworks. We played tether ball and they had a blow up water slide for the kids to play on. I talked to my cousin Marshal most of the time about photography and Landon talked to my Uncle Hiatt about bee's (they have some) and other fun stuff. Landon wants to get bee's. Maybe in like 10 years when we have PLENTY of room. We watched the Thanksgiving point firework show and it was pretty good. Linc just wanted to play on the play ground the whole time and wasn't too interested. We went to the fireworks for Steal Days that they do at the high school and those were great! They were some of the best fireworks I've seen. Linc really liked that one.

A couple weeks ago we went up to the cabin with some friends for a little R&R. Kacy and Joe came and Jake and his wife. Dinner didn't quite turn out so we went and got some pizza and then made some peach cobbler in the dutch oven...the recipe I had called for 6 cans of JUMBO peaches. I had never made it before so I didn't know that, that would feed about 30 people haha! And it took like 5 hours to cook. It wasn't cooking so the guys just built a bon fire on top of it and that seemed to do the trick.

I got together with my mom and we made some strawberry rhubarb and triple berry jam. YUM! This year I'm planning on canning a lot so this was the start.

We have raspberries this year! I LOOOOVE going out and picking fresh raspberries to put in my cereal for breakfast.

Lukie likes them too. :)

Luke is walking around like a crazy man now (or a drunk one)! He's getting so good. My little babe is walking, I guess he's not so little anymore. Man that year went by fast! One of his favorite things right now is holding onto your finger and walking around the house. So cute. We cut off his little baby hair wings.
